First Resume Tips for Freshers

How to write your first resume when you have little or no work experience.

First Resume Tips for Freshers

Focus on education, projects, internships, and skills. Use a clean, one-page format. Start with a short objective or summary that states the role you want and one key strength (e.g., 'B.Tech in CSE seeking a software development role; strong in Python and problem-solving').

List relevant coursework, academic achievements, and certifications. For projects, include tech stack, your role, and one-line outcome. Add links to GitHub or live demos. For internships, describe responsibilities and what you learned.

Use action verbs (Developed, Implemented, Analyzed) and be specific. Avoid filler words. Get the resume reviewed by a senior or use free resume reviewers. Tailor it for each type of role (e.g., dev vs data) by reordering or highlighting relevant projects.
