How to Answer Behavioral Interview Questions

Behavioral questions ask you to describe past situations to predict future performance. The STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) helps you structure clear, concise answers.

Start by briefly describing the situation and your role. Then explain the task or challenge, the specific actions you took, and the measurable result. Keep answers under 2 minutes and pick examples that match the job requirements.

Prepare 5–7 stories that cover leadership, teamwork, conflict, failure, and achievement. Tailor which story you use based on the question. Practice out loud so you sound natural, not scripted.
