How to Close an Interview Strongly

The last few minutes matter. Summarize why you're a fit in one sentence: 'I'm excited about this role because my experience in X aligns well with what you need.' Then ask 1–2 thoughtful questions.

Good closing questions: 'What does success look like in the first 6 months?' 'What do you enjoy most about working here?' 'What are the next steps in the process?' Avoid asking only about salary or leave in the first round.

Thank the interviewer by name and reiterate your interest. Shake hands (in person) or give a confident sign-off on video. Send a brief thank-you email the same day.
