Smart questions to ask that show interest and help you evaluate the role.
Best Questions to Ask the Interviewer
Ask about the role: 'What does a typical day look like?' 'What are the biggest challenges for someone in this role?' 'How is success measured in the first 6 months?' These show you're thinking about performance.
Ask about the team and culture: 'How would you describe the team culture?' 'How does the team collaborate?' 'What do you enjoy most about working here?' Avoid yes/no questions; ask for examples.
Ask about next steps: 'What are the next steps in the process?' 'When can I expect to hear back?' Don't ask about salary, benefits, or leave in the first round unless they bring it up. Prepare 4–5 questions; you may only get to ask 2–3.
