How Long Should Your Resume Be?

Freshers and candidates with under 5 years of experience: aim for one page. Include education, key projects, internships, and skills. Be selective—only the most relevant and impressive points. Two pages are acceptable if you have substantial experience or many relevant projects.

Experienced professionals (5+ years): two pages are standard. First page should have the strongest impact—current role, key achievements, and core skills. Use the second page for earlier roles, education, and certifications. Don't go beyond two pages unless you're in academia or a very senior role with a long track record.

Quality over quantity. If you can say it in one page, don't stretch to two. If you need two pages, make sure every line adds value. Recruiters spend seconds on the first screen—make it count.
